In psychotherapy sessions, clients have the opportunity to work through relationship challenges and work on their own problematic behaviours, thoughts, feelings, and body sensations, or work on their self awareness and development. You might want to overcome past trauma experiences so you can be more present in your life as well as look forward with optimism to your future. This can be done through a variety of psychotherapy modalities. Kelly works with EMDR, psychodynamic psychotherapy, family systems, narrative therapy, CBT, parts work/inner child work, and more!

I’ve learned through my own healing journey that growth and transformation are possible within the safety of a supportive and compassionate therapeutic relationship. It can feel vulnerable to begin, but in a kind, trusting space—a brave space—we can try new ways of being and begin to shift. I’d be honoured to create that space with you. I welcome all people, without judgment, and I believe deeply that no matter your past or present, we all start somewhere.

My approach to therapy is grounded in person-centred, psychodynamic, and narrative traditions, with room to honour your values and spirituality—whether religious or not—if that’s important to you. I also incorporate body-based (somatic) approaches and EMDR to support deeper healing.

I draw from a wide range of therapeutic methods—solution-focused, family systems, grief therapy, art therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, parts work, CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic practices, and more—tailoring our work to meet your unique needs and goals. I come from a trauma-informed and neuroscience-informed perspective, always considering attachment and nervous system regulation. The science is clear: healing and change are truly possible. We don’t have to stay stuck.

We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you—gently, and in line with what your nervous system can handle. When you’re ready, we can slowly build your inner resources to take on more. Slow and steady can lead to deep and lasting change.

For over a decade, I worked in health care supporting people navigating:

Grief and loss Major life transitions Trauma—whether childhood, relational, intersectional, generational, or PTSD/CPTSD, including medical or accident-related trauma New diagnoses or palliative illness Spiritual and existential concerns Feeling stuck or directionless Decision-making Relationship challenges Self-exploration and personal development

My areas of focus include:

Trauma, especially rooted in childhood or relational wounds

Major life transitions, such as marriage, divorce, remarriage, illness, being far from home, miscarriage, menopause, midlife or quarter-life crises, and navigating grief and end of life

I also offer clinical supervision and meet the requirements to supervise RP (Qualifying) candidates as well as Registered Psychotherapists seeking ongoing consultation. You can learn more about this, including direct billing options, on the Supervision page at bravespacetherapy.ca.
